Top Destinations on the Big Island

The Big Island is over 4,000 square miles and has 10 of the planet’s 14 climate zones. It is really impossible to see everything in one day even if you drove for 10 hours.

With Big Island VIP you have the whole van and day to yourself.  We are volcano specialists and we love Kilauea so much we live at the top of Kilauea.  The National Park feels like our office and we love walking through the Park every day.  We love the Big Island and we look forward to showing others this amazing island!

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park DOES have lava at the moment in Halemaumau crater. It isn’t visible during the day other than a plume of gas, it’s best to see in the early morning hours before the sun comes up. To see the rest of the Park it is better to have an interpretive guide help you with what you are seeing and where to see the best sites and sights, which we are happy to do for you.

The Park itself is 523 square miles which is 335,259 acres. Just think, the island of Oahu is 597 square miles so the Park is almost the size of Oahu! To see most of the Park you could easily spend all day. We try to help you see the most important sites and we customize the amount of time spent at each stop.
