Kona History and Turtles

We start the Tour at one of Kona’s best Coffee farms for the finest coffee tour in Kona.

We then head south to Pu’uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park. This park is without doubt the most significant Hawaiian Heritage site in all of the Islands.

We then tour the Painted Church, the active St. Benedict Catholic Church a Catholic Cathedral in the Hawaii Jungle.

Kealakekua Bay the bay where Captain Cook fell on Feb 14th 1779. We view Cook Monument from across Kealakekua Bay, a protected bay where the great British explorer met a violent death.

This tour is action packed and can be modified, here are some of the highlights and options below:

  • Coffee farm tour and samples at one of the oldest coffee farms.
  • A local coffee secret place for affordable Kona coffee.
  • Saint Benedict’s Painted Church and the acclaimed frescos.
  • A stop at an amazing Farmer’s Market tucked out of the way (Wednesday only).
  • Guaranteed turtles (swimming or napping).
  • There are many customizations for this tour, some examples.
    • Get dropped off at the Kona Brewery for their 3 PM tour then walk back to the ship on your own (it’s 2 blocks from the pier).  You would need to book the tour tickets yourself, they have great food.
    • Get dropped off at the Farmer’s Market and walk back through Kona.
